To celebrate World Vegetarian Day, we’d like to introduce the new 2019 Super Foods wall calendar. Filled with mouthwatering photos by Lynn Karlin, this calendar will serve up a full year’s worth of cooking inspiration.

World Vegetarian Day is a day of celebration observed annually around the planet on October 1. Established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977 and endorsed by the International Vegetarian Union in 1978, its purpose is “To promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism.” This celebration is intended to raise awareness of the ethical, environmental, health, and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle.

Super foods — wonderful foods bursting with vitamins, minerals, nutrients, and other healthpromoting properties — add up to super benefits for your well-being. Fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, eggs, nuts, grains, and more can bring variety and depth of flavor to your dishes while propelling you to vibrant health. This calendar is a visual feast of farm-fresh foods paired with simple recipes, fun facts, and practical tips for incorporating these nutrient-rich delights into your life. It’s time to dive into your kitchen, explore new recipes, and enjoy!

Lynn Karlin lived the farm-to-table experience for eight years after moving to a farm in Maine and photographing her life living with the seasons. The sole photographer of three award-winning garden/ lifestyle books, she now adds fine-art photography to the mix and works with clients in the food world. Karlin triumphs in showing her reverence for the remarkable colors and beauty of the harvest.
